Capitulum V
[5] Post haec erat dies festus Iudaeorum et ascendit Iesus Hierosolymis.
[5] After this there was a feast of the Jews in Jerusalem.
2 Now in Jerusalem by the pool is called Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In his iacebat multitudo magna languentium, caecorum, claudorum, aridorum expectantium aquae motum.
3 In these lay a multitude of sick, blind, lame and paralyzed the motion.
4 [angel descended at the Pleasant and the water.
4 [ángel descendió al Agradable y al agua.
Et qui prior descendisset in piscinam post motionem aquas fiebat a quacumque detineur infirmitate].
Then he stepped down into the pool after the water is made from any kind of illness detineur].
5 One man was there for thirty-eight years, had been ill.
6 Hunc cum vidisset Iesus iacentem, et cognovisset quia multum iam tempus habet, dicit ei: "Vis sanus fieri?"
6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that for a long time, he said: "Do you want to be?"
7 Respondit ei languidus: "Domine, hominem non habeo ut, cum turbata fuerit aqua, mittat me in piscinam; dum venio enim ego, alius ante me descendit."
7 answered him: "Sir, I do not have that, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool, and while I am coming, another steps down before me."
8 Jesus said, "Get up, pick it up and walk."
9 And the man became well, and picked up his bed and walk.
He was on the same day.
10 The Jews those who have been cured, "Keep it.
11 Respondit eis: "Qui me fecit sanum, ille mihi dixit: 'Tolle grabattum tuum et ambula.'"
11 replied: "He made me well told me, 'Take up your bed and walk.'"
11 respondió: "Me hizo bien me dijo: 'Toma tu cama y camina'".
13 But he who did not know what it was; For Jesus did move away, a multitude being in that place to sleep.
14 Postea invenit eum Iesus in templo et dixit illi: "Ecce sanus factus es; iam noli peccare, ne deterius tibi aliquid contingat."
14 Afterwards, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him: "you have been healed, now no more, so that nothing worse happens."
15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed.
16 Propterea persequebantur Iudaei Iesum quia haec faciebat in sabbato.
16 Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did this on.
17 Jesus replied, "Dad is still working, and I do."
18 For the more to kill him because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal to God.
Jesus, therefore, answered, and said to them: 19 "Amen, amen, I say unto you, The Son can not of Himself do anything, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He does, these also the Son does in like manner.
20 The Father loves the Son and shows him what he is doing, and discloses to him, so you may wonder.
21 as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son, whom he will.
22 For the Father judges no one but the judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.
He who is not honoring the Son, doth not honor the Father, who hath sent him.
24 Amen, amen dico vobis quia qui verbum meum audit et credit ei, qui misit me, habet vitam aeternam et in iudicium non venit, sed transit a morte in vitam.
24 I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
25 I tell you that the time is now, when the dead will hear the voice of God and those who hear will live.
26 as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in itself; 27 and he gave him authority to judge, because the Son of Man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
30 Non possum ego a me ipso facere quicquam; sicut audio, iudico, et iudicium meum iustum est quia non quaero voluntatem meam sed voluntatem eius qui misit me.
I am 30 I can do nothing; As I hear, I judge: and my judgment is that I do not please myself but him who sent me.
31 Si ego testimonium perhibeo de me, testimonium meum non est verum; 32 alius est qui testimonium perhibet de me, et scio quia verum est testimonium quod perhibet de me.
31 If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true; 32 is another who testifies about me, and I know that the things he says about me.
33 You sent to John and witness to the truth; 34 I do not accept testimony from man, but I say that you can be saved.
35 He was a burning and a shining light, and you chose for a time to enjoy it.
36 Ego autem habeo testimonium maius Iohanne; opera enim quae dedit mihi Pater ut perficiam, ea ipsa opera quae ego facio testimonium perhibent de me quia Pater me misit; 37 et qui misit me, Pater ipse, testimonium perhibuit de me.
36 But I have testimony greater than John; for the works which the Father hath given me, and to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me; 37 and who sent me has himself testified on my behalf.
Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape, 38 and ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye do not believe.
39 Search the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life; And those that testify about me.
40 I do not want to come to me to have life.
41 Claritatem not from men, 42 but I know you have no love of God within you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can you believe, glory from one another, and the glory that comes from God is not looking?
45 Nolite putare quia ego accusaturus sim vos apud Patrem; est qui accuset vos: Moses in quo vos speratis.
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; The accuser is Moses, in whom you trust.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me; Me, for he wrote.
47 If you do not believe, how do I say? "
