After these < things> Perseus cum uxore sua rediit ad urbem Acrisi.
Perseus with his wife returned to the city of Acrisius.
ille autem ubi vidit Perseum, adfectus est magno terrore;
He however when he saw Perseus, was struck with great terror;
nam propter istud oraculum adhuc timebat suum nepotem.
for on account of that oracle still he feared his grandson.
igitur statim refugit in Thessaliam ad urbem Larisam,
Therefore immediately he fled for refuge into Thessaly to the city Larisa;
frustra tamen; neque enim vitavit suum fatum.
in vain however, for not did he avoid his fate.
Post paucos annos rex Larisae fecit magnos ludos;
After a few years the king of Larisa held some great games;
dimiserat nuntios in omnes partes et edixerat diem.
he had sent messengers into all parts and had announced the day.
Multi ex omnibus urbibus Graeciae convenerunt ad ludos.
Many from all the cities of Greece assembled to the games.
Perseus ipse inter alios iniit certamen discorum.
Perseus himself among others entered the contest of the discus.
At dum conicit discum, casu occidit suum avum;
But while he is throwing the discus, by accident he killed his grandfather;
enim Acrisius forte stabat inter spectatores eius certaminis.
for Acrisius by chance was standing among the spectators of this contest.
