We don’t use spaces before question marks, exclamation points, colons, semicolons, and quotation marks in English. In fact, with the exception of the British English, we don’t use spaces before any punctuation, save the ellipses.
We also don’t use guillemets (« and ») in English; we use double quotes (“ and ”).
Typographical conventions vary a great deal from language to language and even from country to country. For example, US English typographical conventions differ from those of the UK English, Canadian French punctuation is different from that of the continental French, etc.
Just keep that in mind.
Merci !
