およそ遠しとされしもの

Hello
I just discovered this forum.

I’m not sure what およそ遠しとされしもの means.
I can’t find 遠し and されし in the online dictionaries.
I wonder if this is ancient Japanese. I’ve just been glossing over the words and assuming it says “thing that is as a rule distant” i don’t know

Thanks

“遠しとされしもの” means “things that are supposed to be distant.”
“遠し” is “遠い” in spoken and contemporary Japanese.

Thanks
So I’m on the right track.
I’ve found and made lingqs for most of the words.
But the only part I don’t understand is “とされし”.

“–とされし” is “–とされた.”
“不要とされしもの” means “不要とされたもの”----things that are supposed to be unnecessary.
