Is there any difference between die Antwort and die Beantwortung?
In my dictionary both mean answer. Die Beantwortung means also reply.

Die Antwort is the result of a question.
Du stellst eine Frage. Ich gebe dir eine Antwort = Ich antworte dir. (You ask a question. I give you an answer/ I answer (you).
Die Beantwortung is the action of answering.
Die Beantwortung dieser Frage ist nicht einfach. ( It is not easy to answer that question.
Ich zögere tagelang mit einer klaren Antwort. (For days I hesitate to give a clear anwer to a question someone asked.)
Ich zögere tagelang mit der Beantwortung seiner Email. (For days I hesitate to sit infront of my computer to write an answering email.)

Unfortunately I’m not sure and I still think they are interchangeable. Maybe not always but it’s very subtle and we probably have the same translation for these two words.
DWDS gives for both the same meaning:
“Erwiderung auf eine Frage”.

It seems you translate the substantive “die Beantwortung” with a verb in English not a substantive.

For example, you didn’t make any question, so I would assume it’s more a Beanwortung, a reply, instead of an answer. Could it be correct?

Du stellst eine Frage. Ich gebe dir eine Beantwortung (Here you have to use Antwort. You can not give someone the process of answering. ) . Ich beantworte (you have to use antworte) dir. [the verb is etwas beantworten vs. jemandem antworten . The verb beantworten is used often in eine Frage beantworten =“to answer a question”)
Die Antwort dieser Frage ist nicht einfach. (Here I’d use Beantwortung when you want to say that it is not easy to answer that question. When you want to use the word Antwort you’d say: Die Antwort auf diese Frage ist nicht einfach.)

(You’d say Meine Antwort auf deine Nachricht/ auf deinen Beitrag… because the result is the written text which is a clear answer. And because we use Antwort also in the meaning of “response” e.g. Regarding the prisoners’ ongoing hunger strike we are waiting for a response of the government. Hinsichtlich des aktuellen Hungerstreiks der Gefangenen erwarten wir eine Antwort der Regierung. Here we are speaking of a response to the situation in form of a solution.)
As I said, the noun Beantwortung describes “the process of answering” = das Beantworten.
