Hello, I’m trying to write out a sentence and need to know if it makes sense and if the grammar is correct.
The context is one person at a hotel ordering room service for dinner via phone for herself and 2 other people:
“Bonsoir, je voudrais le steak à point, le poisson, et le plat du jour… “

As you’ve got no responses so far I thought I’d chip in as another budding French learner. It all checks out to me. I think another more common way of saying essentially the same thing would be to replace ‘je voudrais’ with ‘je vais prendre’.
What you say is correct, although if you haven’t talked about the food you’re ordering with the person who is taking your order you should better say “un steak à point”, “un poisson”.
