Vowel Markings

When I encounter words and verses from the Qur’an in my readings these words and verses of course have the vowel markings included. The vowel markings, according to most native speakers, must not be removed. I understand why this is and I respect it.

My question to the various Arabic learners is this: Do you allow the LingQ software to count these words as new words in your word count even if you already know the word (from other readings without the vowel markers)?

A cursory google search tells me there are approximately 17,000 different words within the Qur’an. This means that if I learn (on LingQ) all the words my count will be 17K higher even if the words are not necessarily new to me.

If I begin accepting words with tashkeel into my word count I will essentially have double the word count (with tashkeel and without tashkeel). So far I have not allowed LingQ to count these words as new to me, but it is cumbersome to always disallow it.

So have have you all chosen to handle this?
