Searching for Japanese Audio Books

I have been studying Japanese for almost a year now, and most of that time has been spent reading and listening to audiobooks during my free time here on LingQ as well as other sites.

I have been reading and listening to the book “If Cats Disappeared from the World” (世界から猫が消えたなら) by Genki Kawamura on LingQ, and I love the amount of work that goes into the audio book to help immerse the listener in the story and world. The voice acting, music, and sound effects help keep interest in the story. Even though there are many times where I don’t understand what’s being said, I am still interested what the story could be talking about, which motivates me to practice reading and translating the text in order to understand what is being said.

Audio books like “If Cats Disappeared from the World” are the kinds that I am trying to look for, and to be honest I don’t have any specific genres that I am looking for. So I was hoping that I could get some recommendation or direct resources that fulfilled my request.

I’m probably being too picky with my resources here, but after an hour or so, It becomes very boring and uninteresting listening to someone speaking with no enthusiasm. It just sounds like they are bored out of their mind, and don’t want to read the book, so why should I force myself to read/listen to it, right?
Thank you for reading and posting on this forum

P.s thank you to keithwhitt for sharing “If Cats Disappeared from the World” on LingQ, I appreciate it greatly.

I think there is an actual Audible Japanese site, but it may not be easily purchasable from the US. I’d start by looking into that one.

Asked my coworker… He googled and came up with this.
