Streak values are all over the place

3 months update - I’m not a leader anymore:

I’ve noticed irregularities in the streak feature for each of my languages. On the leaderboard for Spanish is johnpotter00, with a streak of 338,566 days, just a bit less than 1000 years. It’s clearly a programming error that’s not on the list of priorities for support. Which I’m fine with, as I’d rather they spend their developer time getting 5.0 released and adding new languages.

Thank you, both! Should be fixed now for all users you mentioned.

It happens again, looks like the source of errors wasn’t fixed after all.

Yes, I noticed it too. Roger47 must be some sort of shadow overlord, as he is now back on top of the Greek leaderboard with a 1202-day streak.

The rankings table contains wrong values. It might mean that some kind of database corruption is happening! In this particular case the streak game mechanics is being damaged.
Streak - is why I’m still here. Please fix the root cause.

Yes, I’ve noticed this too. A few weeks ago, Roger47 went from a believable value on the Greek leader board to suddenly 2200+. Then, within the past week, it doubled to 4500+.

Interestingly, it’s the same user as before. My guess is that there’s a function written to calculate a streak for a user. You feed the function the user number and language number, and it returns the streak value. There’s something about a few specific users that is corrupting the calculation.

Zoran - I know this is not a huge priority, but it does annoy some of us users, and I predict it’s a fairly simple programming fix.
