When you want to wish someone on or after the New Year, use the one below.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u3042\u3051\u307e\u3057\u3066\u304a\u3081\u3067\u3068\u3046<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3042\u3051\u307e\u3057\u3066\u304a\u3081\u3067\u3068\u3046(\u3054\u3056\u3044\u307e\u3059)\uff01<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Akemashite omedetou (gozaimasu)!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3042\u3051\u307e\u3057\u3066 is derived from the verb \u660e\u3051\u308b\uff08\u3042\u3051\u308b\uff09which means \u201cto begin.\u201d So, this phrase is apt for celebrating New Year\u2019s Day. Remember to lengthen the \u201ci\u201d syllable at the end of \u30e1\u30ea\u30fc in order to pronounce the phrase correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Happy Kwanza!<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u30af\u30ef\u30f3\u30b6\u304a\u3081\u3067\u3068\u3046\uff01<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kuwanza omedetou!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like \u201cChristmas,\u201d \u201cKwanza\u201d in Japanese is also a phonetic translation that sounds very much the same as the English. \u201cOmedetou\u201d means something like \u201ccongratulations\u201d and is said to celebrate something.
