Learn English With TikTok

So, you want to learn English. You know that it is the best thing you could possibly do for your life and career.

What if I gave you $100,000 for you to invest in the stock of your choice? You would probably be pretty happy, and that investment could be worth a lot of money in the future. Well, becoming fluent in English is an even more significant investment. It could increase the amount of money you can earn per year by many thousands of dollars. It could increase your minimum potential yearly salary by a little bit, perhaps a few thousand dollars a year; and it could increase your maximum potential yearly salary exponentially, by millions of dollars.

Learning English is an investment in your own ability to navigate the world

How should you learn English? Well, you could exert your force of will and discipline and sit studying English for four hours a day, and this might be a worthy use of your time. But a better, more sustainable and efficient option is to leverage your existing habits. Work with the life you are already living. So, if you spend time watching TikTok on your phone, here is how you can use it to help you learn English, with LingQ.

First, you have to import the TikTok into your LingQ library. Open up your computer and navigate to TikTok in your web browser. Find something that interests you. Then click on your trusty LingQ importer (available for ChromeSafariEdge and Firefox).

The advantage of using LingQ, rather than simply watching TikToks, is that you will grow to understand more when you listen and read the same content. Your brain will more effectively link words to their various pronunciations. And you can return to your lessons repeatedly (as Steve talks about in the TikTok video!) to deepen your familiarity with certain words and phrases. For instance, if I were learning English, this TikTok video would surely etch the word “repeat” onto my memory for good.
