Internet Polyglots Share Content on LingQ!
Last week the Canadian city of Montreal hosted the 2017 LangFest, a gathering of language enthusiasts from all over the world.
The event was jam-packed with interesting talks on topics ranging from motivational techniques to why you should learn a language you’ve never heard of. There were also workshops on Japanese, Italian, Mandarin and more.
If you’re at all active in the world of language learning and Internet polyglots, you’ll recognize some of the names of the speakers: Richard Simcott, Benny Lewis, Olly Richards, Alex Rawlings, Lindsay Williams and of course LingQ cofounder Steve Kaufmann to name a few.
As well as speaking at the event, Steve also managed to sit down for a chat with polyglots Richard Simcott, Lýdia Machová, Mark Pentleton and linguist Stephen Krashen. You can see the interviews in this playlist on Steve’s YouTube channel:
Not all language learners learn in the same way. Some, like LingQ’s Steve, prefer massive amounts of reading and listening input. Other learners, like polyglot Richard Simcott from Steve’s interview, find it more effective to go to language classes. Some like to talk from day one, others need lots of time spent with the language before they attempt to speak at all. That’s why it’s important to have access to a variety of different materials and resources.
LingQ is working hard to make this the case and forge connections in the worldwide language learning community, so we’ve teamed up with Benny Lewis and Olly Richards!
