learning new vocabulary: word association sentences

In order to really learn a new word, it is important to create as many associations in your mind as you can. Mental images help too, whether stupid or sensible. Associating emotions to words, as well as facts, helps you to remember them.


Try these exercises:


Make a list of the new words you want to learn.

 

Sort out which are objects (nouns), which are actions (verbs), which are descriptions (adjectives and adverbs).
