What is meant by Active Assignments?

Your main activity in LingQ is to study assignments. Active assignments are those that you are currently working on. Once you have reached your Active Assignments limit, you must archive assignments to make way for new assignments. Archived assignments are frozen unless they are reactivated.

What do I need points for?

Points are used for services like writing correction, live conversation and premium content. Points can be bought in your Account, can be given to you as part of your membership or can be earned by selling content Items or being active on the site.

How many points do you charge for tutored services?

  • 1 on 1 Conversation (15 minutes) = 500 points.
  • 4 on 1 Group Discussion (1 hour) = 500 points.
  • Writing Correction (300 words) = 1000 points.

Do my points expire?

Yes, any unused points expire after 90 days.

How does the Points Discount work?

The undiscounted price of points is $20 for 1000 points. Paying accounts will get a discount of 50% and will pay $10 for 1000 points.

What is Personal Tutoring?

All Plus and Premium members will receive help and guidance from a Personal Tutor. All active Plus and Premium members will also receive a monthly progress report.

How do I upgrade or downgrade?

Once you are logged in, go to the Account page and select your new membership level. Changes to your account occur right away. You will be charged the fee for your new membership level on your next billing date.

How do I cancel my account?

Once you are logged in, go the Account page and click the "Cancel your account" link. Your account will be cancelled immediately and all your data will be deleted from our system. You will not be charged again.

What if I don't have a Visa or Mastercard?

To pay another way or to just simplify your billing, you can make a lump sum payment in a variety of ways including bank transfer, PayPal, money order or cheque. Sign up for a Free membership and see more details on your Account page.
