Learning through speaking and writing

Hi, i'm currently learning spanish on LingQ. I have taken spanish in school for 2 semesters and love the language. I have been to Mexico once and was able to hold conversations with some of the locals. I have always wondered in learning a language if it is better to write to learn, or if it is better to talk and listen. In my spanish exams, my speaking and comprehension marks would always surpass my writing marks. So i guess my overall question is; is it acceptable to skip the writing portion until i am stronger in the language? or if i should focus on writing. Or should i keep reading new lessons and listening and try and talk to a tutor? Thanks :)
If you are aiming to travel then obviously speaking skills are of utmost importance.

If you don't feel inclined to work on writing skills right now and you don't need to, i.e. you don't have any exams coming up, and you want to leave it be until later, it's your prerogative!

If you are worried about your writing skills you can always focus on improving them while continuing to focus on listening and speaking. It doesn't have to be either-or, you can work on different aspects of the language at the same time if it gives you pleasure. It really doesn't have to be all or none.

It is beneficial to write , very beneficial in my experience. How much of it you do depends on whether you need to improve your writing skills for school, and whether you enjoy doing it. If you have no need to improve you can leave it for now. If you need to improve now, start writing more. That would be my advice.
I am writing more in Finnish(everyday.) I notice that it helps me quite a lot to pick up-reinforce my passive vocabulary.
