I noticed LingQ has a writing goal of 49 words a week at the Beginner 1 level. I was a little surprised to see this with how much you emphasize reading and listening first, then producing later. I know writing is easier than speaking, but at an beginner 1 level, its hard to have much to say. I had been submitting writings (cheating using google translate) and then submitting them to natives, which they correct and which I then import to my lessons. Should we be trying to produced writings at such a low level where I struggle to understand the texts? Just curious as to why LingQ has a recommended words of writing at beginner 1 at 49 words. I thought such a goal would come at later levels.
The targets here are actually based on daily targets that are in the system, so the number you see (49 in this case) is just a multiplication of the daily target. I encourage you to take these targets just as suggestions and try to focus on what you enjoy doing instead :)
LOL, fair enough. I tend to over analyze things and always have been told I think too much, not that I'm that bright (I have a poor memory, and have been called the absent minded professor), I just seem to question/analyze things a little much. Thank you for the input. Regardless, I'm going to do my best to hit the targets, just to give me something to aim for. I think struggling with writing, even though I'm relying heavily on google translate, is helping and eventually with a more active vocabulary and understanding the structure it will come to me.
