Quite a bit of the LingQ UI is missing Swedish translations (they default to English). Who could help make it more complete?

I was involved at some time, then all of a sudden most of it was completed. Are you thinking of any particular sections?

The more translations of the site, the better.

The text "Ge mig ett uppslag" shows up in some funny places, like the heading of a printed word list.

Ah, that one... I know it's there instead of "Hint" (in the vocabulary/flashcards section) - there isn't just one good translation (just as there are several synonyms in English). The translator has chosen a phrase instead of a single word. Who knows, maybe "hint" is a verb in some places of this site (in that case, the Swedish phrase isn't the best choice...).

By the way, "hint" ("tip", "suggestion" etc) could be translated as tips/förslag/uppslag, and that last word is also used for newspapers/magazines/books (mittuppslag - centrefold). "Ge mig ett uppslag" works just fine, like "give me a suggestion/hint".

I'm translating the interface little by little. I think I'm the only one at the moment, so don't expect any miracles. Some texts can't be translated directly into Swedish, and there's no consensus regarding even simple terms like "LingQ" and "flashcard".

Looking good, my LingQs of the Day email instructions are in my target language today. :)

FYI, Daily LingQs email is showing %s instead of names:

"Hej %s,
Repetera dina dagliga ord nedan. Lär in dem med hjälp av knapparna för Flashcards eller Lucktest."

OK, I've fixed this. It should be corrected on the site the next time translations are updated :)

Jeff, leaving LingQ as is, would be standard translation practice.

If it only were easier to translate...

Some have chosen "LingQ-ord" (=LingQ word) which works good for plural (it doesn't change), others have preferred "LingQ" which has -s or -ar as plural. Neither "feels" good, and "LingQ-ord" feels unnatural (for me at least).. Same thing with "Flashcard". It's not uncommon to use English terminology in Swenglish, but that usually results in unavoidable plural -s which isn't good. Translating the word into Swedish is awkward. Some online resources suggest "bildkort ("picture card") but I associate that with Zener cards... "ordkort" ("word card") is closer to the meaning but still doesn't sound right. And so it continunes... Then we have this capitalization which is a big no-no in Swedish orthography.

I can see the challenges which you're having with things. Wishing you good progress.

In the page for reviewing invited users the message "\NDu tjänade 0 poäng förra månaden" appears. Note extra erroneous "\N".
