In this lesson the sentence is written:

"Wir hatten sonst immer Kontakt und haben uns immer Emails geschreiben."

The audio says:

"Wir hatten sonst immer Kontakt und haben uns immer Emails geschickt."

I don't know which is the correct way, but I think it was just a mistake in the transcribing.
