What's the proper translation for duzen? It's not mentioned in the dictionary.

Duzen und Siezen are ways of addressing people:

If I say "du" to you, I am being informal - as we tend to be online, for example.

If I say "Sie" - note the capital letter - I am being formal. If I meet someone much older, I would tend to say "Sie".

Darf ich Du sagen? Wollen wir uns duzen? Bitte siezen Sie mich!!!

Wie geht es Dir heute? Was machst du so? (some people use a capital D, some don't)

Wie geht es Ihnen heute? Was machen Sie so? (always capitalise the I or S when talking or writing 'formally'.)
