Hello… I am confused about the sentence: “Мне нравится*** мой друг Леонид.” Does it mean I like my friend Leonid " OR " My friend Leonid likes me " ? If it was the first answer, wouldn’t it be я instead ofмне ? Thanks!

Мне нравится Леонид – I like Leonid
You can find the same pattern in Italian and Spanish: mi piace Leonid, me gusta Leonid.

My friend Leonid likes me – Я нравлюсь моему другу Леониду

A more literal translation is “me he pleases”. If you’re acquainted with Spanish, it works like “me gusta”.
