ك as a gender marker

Why is أخوك pronounced ‘akhoKI’, but أخبرك ‘akhbiroK’ (not -KI)? Is it not necessary to mark the verb for addressee’s gender? Maybe I got something wrong… Thanks.

well, in the possessive case for nouns like" أخوك " when you are talking to a female the letter " ك " is pronounced ki
and when you are talking to a male it is pronounced “k”

for verbs … when you are talking to a female you pronounce that " ك " like “ik”
and when you are talking to a male you pronounce it " ak "
so in this case:
akhoki … if he was talking to a guy “akhok”
okhberik… if he was talking to a guy " okhberak"

I know it’s confusing a little bit … but with a lot of listening you’ll get used to it… don’t worry
