The exact answer is, NOT exactly! =))) This is the reason she used ‘a couple of weeks’ instead of just saying ‘two weeks’ ! =)))

She does not know exactly if it’s a bit more than two weeks or a bit less, she doesn’t have to be very specific that’s why she said ‘in the last couple of weeks’ instead of the exact ‘in the last two weeks’, but looks like even the native speakers of English do not always feel this subtle difference! :wink:

“Couple,” of course, means 2. When I say “a couple of weeks” I mean “about two.” If I am being held to strict account about exactly how long it has been, e.g. since a bank deposit, I would say “two weeks.” If I say “a few weeks,” it implies 2 or 3, though I think some people think “a couple of weeks” and “a few weeks” are equivalent. This is my experience. However I don’t know whether different countries/regions use these expressions differently
