Hello everybody, I don't understand the word "boot-cover" in this sentence : He examined the inside of the boot-cover.
Are you talking about a car? The boot of a car is the bit where you can put your luggage - in most cars. Or are you talking about boots that have a cover over them (like galoshes in the olden days, not that I remember that far back :) ) ?
So a boot-cover would be something that covers the boot of the car, like a lid or a hood.
