Is the word "its" OK in that sentence? Why not

Is the word “its” OK in that sentence? Why not “It’s”.
Traditional education is not about learning. IT’S about societal programming.

I think you are right. “Its” should read “It is” or “It’s.”

“It’s about societal programming.”
In this sentence, “it’s” is used, because it means “it is”.

“Its head got blown off.”
In this sentence, “its” is used, because it shows possession. The sentence means “The head belonging to it got blown off.”

AJ contends that you won’t learn a language well “simply” by going to school. If you delete the word “simply” in his sentence, you might reach some other conclusions.

There are three wrong “its” in total in this text. Unfortunately, I could not edit the lesson, it required an entry into a field which I couldn’t find!

It would be good if the provider of this lesson checked the text before sharing it . . .

@Sanne

LingQ is the provider!!

@support

Please have a look at Sannes post.

The edit function is at the moment only in my own lessons active. So we can not correct others typos.

and

it would be helpful if the spell checker comes back on the import page also!

“Learning takes place in the apartment, in a cafe, in the library, on the bus.”(AJ)
But, you cannot learn a language well “simply” by staying in your apartment, in a cafe, or in the library.
