what is the difference between appreciate and thank?
If you appreciate something, you are grateful for it. You see its special qualities and you are happy those qualities are there.
You do not deserve the office, if you cannot appreciate the talents of your company a little better.
= if you cannot see (and be happy about) the special qualities of your company’s talents.
If you appreciate something, it’s a feeling inside you.
If you thank somebody for something, you say thank you: it’s an action.
I really appreciated her efforts. (I was grateful for them: this was my feeling, inside me.)
I thanked her for her efforts. (I said thank you to her.)
