Suggestion - gender specific colour-coded lingqs

This thread inspired me to make this suggestion: http://www.lingq.com/learn/de/forum/12/15175/?p...

In the edit window for lingqs you could add little coloured boxes to colour the text to represent the gender of nouns in languages that use genders, for example:

pink - feminine
blue - masculine
grey - neutral

Then over time when people are adding new words they would automatically be colour-coded from when people did them before....assuming everyone colour-codes them correctly of course! :)

I use a colour-coded set for German vocab with Anki and it makes remembering the gender of nouns so much easier!
That's a really good idea! I've been learning French, and that would be really helpful.
I agree, that's a great idea!

It doesn't have to be the obvious choice (pink, blue, grey), but I think it would certainly help if words were displayed in different colours within the lessons (not just yellow) depending on gender. An idea that should not be ignored!
Good luck with that.
That would be great! You could soak up the gender without really thinking about it. I might even start doing flashcards then...
At the present time we are focusing on features that work for all languages. In the futur we may start to optimize for specific languages.
