It looks like you are using an old version of Internet Explorer (IE6). We do our best to support IE6, but the site will work much better if you use a more up to date browser. We strongly recommend you upgrade to:

I've just found http://podcastle.jp which looks like it might be great for Japanese learners - it's a website that downloads a lot of different podcasts, then puts them through a Speech-To-Text program and puts them online for users to correct (like most STT it isn't perfect, but it's a good start). It makes it quite a useful resource for learners, especially if you pick a podcast which has been reviewed by others.
@Lyise - That's a super cool website. I don't study Japanese, but it's an amazing resource nonetheless. I wonder if something like this is available for other languages, too...
@mikebond - I've now added Euronews in the remaining few languages. Enjoy :)
@Alex - there's also an English version using the same system ( http://en.podcastle.jp/ ) but it seems a lot less reliable at the minute, maybe once it's matured a bit more as a project it will be more reliable. Unfortunately this is the only website of this kind that I know of, but I'll keep an eye out in case there are any other for other languages.
I've thought that http://flibusta.net (an online library) could be a good resource to list on the Russian import page!
Thanks for the suggestion, eugrus. Flibusta is now on the list of resources for Russian.
I came across this e-book search engine: http://free-books.us.to (indexes free ones)
Distinct categories exist for English, Italian, Polish, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, German and Romanian, but it indexes books in other languages as well.
Also useful, but only for works in Spanish, is http://www.librodot.com/
eugrus, Thanks for the links! Do you actually reach a site with the URL "http://free-books.us.to"? I keep being redirected to "books.google.com", which is the "google books" site--pdfs (etc.) of books digitized from university libraries. I'm using Google Chrome; perhaps the browser is interfering . . .

[altered the note to remove a comment in Russian, as the thread is in English.]
@Ernie I reached the site at "http://free-books.us.to" both yesterday and today.
Yesterday the home page loaded right away. Today only a blank page loaded the first couple of times I tried.
Then, after a few minutes, the home page loaded, the search function worked and I successfully downloaded a book.

@eugrus Thank you for the link.
@Ernie I do. Here is a screenshot: http://i32.fastpic.ru/big/2012/0304/4a/4587a4d5...
Worked for me too.
Thanks, all (eugrus, donhamilton, Imyirtseshem) for the help. I still haven't got the page to load--Google waits awhile and then substitutes a Google e-book search page. I've tried enough for today (clearing my cache, &c, using a different browser, and so on). Perhaps another time. Thanks again!
@Ernie Try using a foreign VPN or proxy.
eugrus, Well, the thought crossed my mind, but my brother, who lives in another U.S. state, tried this yesterday and it worked for him. Nevertheless, you could be right. I'm not setup to do that right now, but should I try it, I'll let you know how it works. Thanks much!
I, too, am noticing that this site (http://free-books.us.to/) doesn't seem to want to load. Has it always been this way? If so, I'm hesitant to add it to the list of resources if it regularly times out...
Hi, guys! Can you add Presseurop (www.presseurop.eu) as a resource for the available languages (Italian, French, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Polish, Dutch)?
Courrier International (a weekly magazine with articles from all over the world translated into French) is very useful, too. The newspaper is in French, but the web edition often includes the links to the original articles.
Best collection of Russian film subtitles i have found so far is at: http://subtitry.ru/subtitles.php
Thanks for the suggestions. I've now added presseurop.eu, courrierinternational.com and subtitry.ru to the list.

Have a look at the Lingq. library!

In my opinion, Google News is worth mentioning on top of the lists of recommended Resources on Import pages for each language here on LingQ.

For instance, https://news.google.com/nwshp?ned=de for German, https://news.google.com/nwshp?ned=ru for Russian and so on.

I would also like to suggest this list of News resources to be listed on the Import pages for learners of Russian:
http://www.lenta.ru
http://www.utro.ru
http://www.kommersant.ru
http://www.vedomosti.ru
http://www.gazeta.ru
