In Chinese I often come across characters erroneously highlighted blue as new words, when they are completely separate words that shouldn't be linked together. I usually deal with these by just clicking the red X to ignore them so they don't skew the stats. (This makes hitting the all LingQed button at the end of the lesson useless, because it would add a bunch of non-words to known stats. So they have to be manually ignored. But this is understandable and I live with it. I've done it so much now it's not much of a problem anymore.)
The real problem is, there are instances where perhaps several characters are erroneously highlight blue as a new word, when only the first two or last two are the ones that make up the word I'm looking for. After clicking the red X to ignore these and make them white, if I then drag my cursor over only the two-character word, suddenly all will be highlighted blue again! So I can't choose the word by itself to add it as known or as a new LingQ.
For example, 人生哲学 is highlighted blue. I already have 人生 as a known word. I want to add 哲学 as a known word too, but there is no way to highlight it alone. I ignored the whole group, then tried to highlight just 哲学 but 人生哲学 automatically gets highlighted again as a whole.
Has anyone found a trick to override this?
