É vs for

What is the precise difference between é and for?

For example, with this sentence:

você aprenderá melhor se a lição for interessante

What would happen if I changed ‘for’ and put ‘é’ instead?

você aprenderá melhor se a lição é interessante

Obrigado
C

você usa for quando quer expressar futuro… é você usa pra presente… nesse caso você tem que usar for porque ainda não estudou a lição…

excelente, graças marina

If you are expressing a hypothetical condition in the future, you have to use the subjunctive (for).
