Hello
Could you please tell me what this sentence means? and why is it constructed grammatically this way? is it saying: how long has the museum been open, or how long do we still have before it closes? or simply how long is the museum open each day? and why? isn't geoefnet a past tense verb?
How long is the museum open each day? - geöffnet is the past participle - in northern German (I think) they use this phrase with 'haben' - in southern German (incl. Austria) we use it with 'sein' - it's a passive that expresses a state: Wie lange ist das Museum geöffnet (=offen)?
auf = geöffnet, offen
Thank you very much
